I. Students studying abroad at public expense
According to experts studying abroad, in Japan, according to different scholarships, international students are divided into national students and private students. The system of overseas students at public expense is established by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan to promote the acceptance of international students. The system was founded in 1954, providing state financial support for foreign students. All international students are private students except those at public expense and those sent by foreign governments.
There are three ways for overseas students to apply: (1) embassy recommendation (2) university recommendation (3) domestic adoption.
Second, private students.
That is to say, for international students other than publicly-funded international students and international students sent by foreign governments, private international students' scholarships include Kyushu University Friendship Scholarship, JASSO study incentive fees, and scholarships from other social organizations and non-governmental organizations.
In order to receive and train more outstanding talents, Kyushu University Friendship Scholarship was specially established to attract outstanding students from all over the world to study in Kyushu University.
Japan Student Aid Agency (JASSO) collects applicants from student cadres of various departments every April. In late May, our school recommended candidates to JASSO.
Every time other scholarships are raised, they will be notified through the notice issued by the international student department of each college. Please note that there will be scholarships for shorter periods of time.

Overview of scholarships in various countries
Most scholarships in the United States are awarded through colleges and universities, and a large part of them are allocated to domestic students. But even so, a few scholarships for international students are very attractive. Although the competition is fierce, a considerable number of China students still get full prizes every year. American university scholarships are divided into three types: non-service scholarships, service scholarships and school loans.
International students usually come into contact with the first two kinds of scholarships, among which non-service scholarships have the largest application rate and the largest amount. British universities also have scholarships, but the amount is small and the total amount is small. In contrast, government scholarships are more attractive. The Chevening Scholarship is the most representative flagship scholarship program of the British government. The scholarship is funded by the Foreign and Commonwealth Office (FCO). Scholarships provided by the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office to eligible applicants include tuition and living expenses. The maximum amount of tuition for the academic year is 65,438+02,000. At the same time, international round-trip air tickets and other related expenses are provided. Some scholarship winners can get joint funding from partners or sponsors of the British Foreign and Commonwealth Office.

The orange tulip scholarship program founded by the Dutch Ministry of Education aims to create more low-cost opportunities for outstanding China students to study in the Netherlands, and further promote Dutch higher education among China students. In the 2009-20 10 academic year, the total amount of Orange Tulip Scholarships reached about 400,000 euros, which helped 40-50 outstanding students from China to study for master's degree or above in the Netherlands. General schools will provide full or partial tuition fee remission, and some even provide living allowance/subsidy.
The most famous scholarship in Korea is the high tuition fee waiver provided by universities. Before 2009, in order to promote domestic higher education and attract international students, South Korea reduced the tuition fees for international students by 50%. After the adjustment, the amount of tuition fee remission is changed from 30% to 100%, and the amount of tuition fee remission obtained by each student is determined by his academic performance. Students whose grades and academic status are not up to standard may eventually lose the opportunity to enjoy tuition remission, while students with excellent grades may enjoy Korean higher education without spending a penny.
