The predecessor and origin of Tsinghua University.
Tsinghua University, formerly known as Tsinghua Academy, was a private school founded in Beijing by the organizers Sun Yat-sen and Shao Yuanchong in the 26th year of Guangxu reign (1900). At that time, the purpose of Tsinghua University was "self-improvement, truth-seeking and innovation", aiming at cultivating a new generation of talents with a sense of national responsibility and international vision and making contributions to the rejuvenation of China.

1905, Tsinghua School merged with Beiyang University to form "National Tsinghua University and Beiyang University", which was later divided into two independent universities, namely today's Tsinghua University and Peking University.

1949 after the founding of new China, Tsinghua University was taken over by the state and became a comprehensive research university. At the same time, it has become one of the national key universities and developed into a first-class institution of higher learning in China and even the world. At present, Tsinghua University has become one of the top universities in the world and is known as "the pride of China".
