Two. Huainan Union University was established in September, 1984. It is an ordinary university approved by the provincial government and put on record by the Ministry of Education. The school is located in Huainan City, Anhui Province, a big city in China, with lush Shungeng Mountain in the south and winding Huaihe River in the north. It is close to the traffic arteries in the city center, with beautiful environment and convenient transportation. Over the past 35 years, the scale of running a school has been continuously expanded, the quality of teaching has been steadily improved, the characteristics of running a school have been highlighted year by year, and the social reputation has been increasing day by day.
The school adheres to the school-running philosophy of "governing the school according to law, respecting teachers, pursuing excellent learning and scientific development", takes the development strategy of "establishing the school with quality, developing the school with characteristics and strengthening the school with talents", highlights the service purpose, takes employment as the guidance, strengthens the combination of school and society, teaching and production, teaching and scientific research, trains senior practical talents needed by the front line of modernization, and strives to build local higher vocational colleges with practical talents training and open school-running pattern.
After 35 years of development, the school covers an area of more than 800 mu, and there are more than 400 in-service teachers, including 1 15 teachers with senior titles and 258 teachers with master's degree or above. The proportion of "double-qualified" teachers in the total number of teachers ranks in the forefront of similar colleges in the province. The school now has eight departments of mechanical and electrical engineering, chemical engineering, construction engineering, economics, politics, law and literature, foreign languages, computer science and medicine, and teaching units such as adult education college, basic courses department, ideological and political department and training center of RTVU, which undertake the teaching task of cultivating students in ordinary colleges and universities. At present, there are 49 permanent enrollment majors in "open education" colleges and universities, including undergraduate majors 10, with nearly 10,000 students of all kinds. The school now has advanced laboratories such as engineering training center, computer teaching center, network technology, multimedia, mechatronics, instruments and meters, chemistry and chemical engineering, accounting, phonetics, clinical medicine, anatomy, pathology, tissue specimen room, etc., with complete design functions and first-class facilities, which can meet the needs of students' experimental training.
In recent years, the employment signing rate of graduates reached 95% in that year, and they were awarded the honorary title of "Advanced Collective for Employment of Graduates from Ordinary Colleges and Universities in Anhui Province" in succession, and the quality and level of employment were among the best among similar colleges and universities in Anhui Province.
