Seoul National University (English: Seoul National University Korean:? /University), referred to as National Seoul University, is located in Seoul, the capital of South Korea. Its original Chinese name was National Seoul University, because the old Chinese translation of the Korean word "(Seoul)" was Seoul.

It was changed to Seoul in 2005. Former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and many South Korean presidents were born in Seoul National University, with a total of 42,939 students.

Seoul National University is recognized as the highest institution in Korea, one of the top universities in the world and one of the top national research universities in Asia. It is also a member of the World Pacific Rim University Alliance, the Forum of Four Universities in Asian University Alliance and East Asia, the Association of East Asian Research Universities and the Korean Sky Alliance.
