Dominant disciplines and majors

Mu Ran University of Technology has related majors such as building system engineering, mechanical system engineering, information engineering, electrical and electronic engineering, material performance engineering and applied chemistry. Kansei engineering and artificial life research in the field of information engineering have great influence in Japan. Therefore, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan has set up a satellite entrepreneurship laboratory in this school, focusing on the research and development of "key technologies for a new generation of software adapted to life and human activities". Another strong institution of the university is the Aerospace Systems Research Center, which has the best wind tunnel research equipment in Japanese universities. Since its establishment, it has devoted itself to education and research according to the regional characteristics, and trained talents to support Hokkaido's heavy industry.

Mu Ran University of Technology takes "innovation in science and technology" as its school-running goal, "making use of the environment and regional conditions of industrial cities to carry out education and research according to regional characteristics" as its school-running philosophy, and "devoting to regional society, international society and contributing to social development" as its school-running purpose.

Mu Ran University of Technology has established a series of systems, such as the "research system" in which private enterprises provide researchers, research funds and research equipment, and the "commissioned research system" in which research is commissioned by the Ministry of Industry and other outsiders. Through the combination of production and learning, the goal of regional industry and scientific research development in colleges and universities can be realized.

1939, Mu Ran university of technology was established as one of seven government-run higher industrial schools in order to expand the technical personnel under the wartime system. When Mu Ran Higher Institute of Technology was founded, the undergraduate (3 years) program was: machinery, electricity, industrialization, mining, metallurgy, etc. During World War II (1944), it was renamed as Mu Ran Institute of Technology. Later, due to the educational system reform, it merged with the Department of Civil Engineering affiliated to Hokkaido University and was officially renamed Mu Ran University of Technology. Now Mu Ran University of Technology is one of the five national technical universities in Japan. At the beginning of the establishment of Mu Ran Higher Institute of Technology, the school building of Mu Ran Commercial School (later Mu Ran Commercial College in Hokkaido) was used as a temporary school building because the school building of Shuiyuan Town in Mu Ran City was under construction. The following year, 1940, the student dormitory (Mingdeliao) was initially built. 194 1, the whole school was completed and moved from the temporary school building. The Shui Yuan school building was inherited by the newly established Mu Ran University of Technology and has been in use ever since.

According to Japan's Yonhap News Agency, Muroran University of Technology in Hokkaido, which is dedicated to the research and development of supersonic aircraft technology, demonstrated its own experimental small jet on May 30. The university plans to develop an aircraft with a speed of more than 2 times the speed of sound (Mach 2) and start its test flight at the Shirakamachi proving ground on August 20 10.

It is reported that the aircraft displayed in Japan is 3 meters long and 1.6 meters wide. Most of the airframe is made of carbon fiber reinforced plastic and equipped with two turbojet engines. Initially, it can operate wirelessly from the ground to detect low-speed flight characteristics during takeoff and landing.

The report pointed out that the current top speed of this aircraft is 370 kilometers per hour. Researchers are working to develop more powerful jet engines. In addition, the airframe structure and control technology are also being improved, and strive to finally reach the flight speed above Mach 2.
