Hunan normal university library's predecessor was the Library of National Normal University, which was founded in 1938.

During the period of major adjustment of colleges and universities in China from 65438 to 0953, hunan normal university library was established on the basis of the former National Normal University Library, plus most libraries of Hunan University and some university libraries of Henan Pingyuan University, Jiangxi Nanchang University and Changsha.

By the end of 2008, the library had collected more than 3.4 million paper documents.

2, dormitory

Hunan Normal University * * * has eight dormitory areas, namely: Xuetangpo Dormitory Area, Erli Half Dormitory Area, South Campus Dormitory Area, Dezhiyuan Dormitory Area, Tianma Park, Xianjiahu Dormitory Area, Taohuaping Dormitory Area and Zhanggongling Dormitory Area.

In Xuetangpo dormitory area, each floor of the dormitory has a public washroom and bath room, and a washing machine is equipped at an appropriate position.

There are track and field courts and basketball courts near the dormitory building 1-4, and badminton courts have also been built downstairs on the 5th-6th floors.
