1928, Guangxi University was born in Butterfly Mountain, Wuzhou City, Guangxi. The first principal of the school is Mr. Ma, a famous educator and revolutionary in China, who is known as "Northern Cai South Ma". At the beginning of Guangxi University, there were three colleges of workers and peasants. 1936, adding liberal arts colleges and medical schools. 1939, Guangxi University was changed to National Guangxi University and became a national university named by Nanjing Government of the Republic of China at that time. National Guangxi University was a famous national university in the Republic of China. During his school years, Ma worked hard to plan and advocate scientific research, hired talented and progressive scholars to teach, purchased books and instruments, enriched teaching equipment, set up teaching workshops such as chemistry and machinery, and established scientific research institutions, ranking among the top universities in China. During the Anti-Japanese War, a large number of literati and scholars gathered at the National Guangxi University in Guilin Cultural City and wrote passionately about the modern educational history of China. By 1949, National Guangxi University has developed into a comprehensive university with five colleges, 22 departments and four majors, which has great influence in China. 1952 is the school name written by President Mao Zedong. 1953, during the adjustment of colleges and departments in national universities, the National Guangxi University was closed, and its teachers, equipment and books were adjusted to 19 universities in Central South and South China respectively, which made great sacrifices for the development of higher education in new China.
