The Children's Hospital of Chongqing Medical University was founded by the Pediatrics Department of Shanghai Medical College, 1956. It is one of the earliest four pediatric departments in China, a national third-class comprehensive children's hospital integrating medical teaching and scientific research, the earliest national key discipline of pediatrics, the first unit awarded master's and doctor's degrees in pediatrics by the state, and one of the first four emergency centers for children established by the Ministry of Health and UNICEF. He is the largest children's hospital in Southwest China, the leading member of Pediatrics Branch and Pediatric Surgery Branch of Chinese Medical Association, the editor-in-chief of Chinese Pediatric Magazine, the deputy editor-in-chief of Chinese Pediatric Surgery Magazine and Pediatric Health Care Magazine, and the editor-in-chief and deputy editor-in-chief of national pediatric textbooks. He is the deputy director of Perinatal Medicine Branch of Chinese Medical Association, the head of immunology group of Pediatric Branch of Chinese Medical Association, the head of national oncology group and the head of neurology group, pharmacy group and pediatrics group of Chinese Medical Association. It has been awarded the title of national advanced collective of health system, national advanced unit of spiritual civilization construction and national youth civilization twice. The hospital has 800 beds, including faculty 1242, doctoral supervisor 2 1 person, senior professional title expert 0/80, and experts enjoying special government allowance 12.

The hospital is the only children's foreign-related hospital in Chongqing, and it is a nationwide networked children's emergency center. It is Chongqing Asthma Prevention and Treatment Center, Laser Application Center and Emergency Center for Critical Newborns and Premature Infants. * * * There are 28 clinical and medical departments, and the main specialties are pediatric internal medicine, pediatric surgery, infectious gastroenterology, emergency department, otolaryngology, ophthalmology and psychology. Among them, children's immune deficiency, EEG physiology, peripheral nerve diseases, leukemia and solid tumors, nutrition and growth, and diagnosis and treatment of allergic diseases enjoy a high reputation in the country. Neonatal diseases, refractory pneumonia, living donor liver transplantation, complex heart surgery in young age, genitourinary system malformation and orthopedic surgery are in the leading position in western pediatrics. The College of Pediatrics undertakes the teaching tasks of students and advanced students at all levels of pediatric medicine and nursing. There are nearly 200 graduate students and more than 65438 advanced students every year. The hospital provides standardized training for residents, clinical nurses, medical skills and management personnel, which is one of the training bases for pediatric medical students after graduation designated by the Ministry of Health.
