There is such bright light in Cai Wei's life.
Cai Wei was born in an ordinary family, and his parents are both workers. Although he is not rich, he can study in Cai Wei University, but his grades are not very good. Not so strict. In fact, Cai Wei got good grades in Chinese because he loved reading ancient books since he was a child, but he didn't know anything about mathematics and English.
Unexpectedly, Cai Wei failed in the gaokao and had to work as a worker in a rubber factory.
Most people are basically "salted fish" after work. Even if they have more ideas when studying, they give up in their daily work, but Cai Wei is different. Although he is very tired as a worker, he still insists on studying.
Ancient books are relatively unpopular, especially Cai Wei's emphasis on "primary schools". What is "primary school"? In fact, it is the general name of philology, phonology and philology in ancient China, which can be understood as philology. If you can't buy this kind of book, you can only borrow it from the library, but precious ancient books are generally not borrowed. Cai Wei had no choice but to copy books.
It is hard to imagine that in this era, there are still people who are willing to copy by hand for reading. This sincere heart is enough to move people.
Many things happen. Cai Wei's understanding of ancient literature and characters has reached a height that ordinary people can't reach over time. Qiu Xigui, a leading figure in ancient philology, once said, "Now many people who engage in ancient philology are nominally professors, but in fact they don't have his level." He even said, "In some places, I don't have his level."
The fate between Cai Wei and Qiu Xigui comes from the bamboo slips of Fu of SHEN WOO unearthed from the Han Tomb in Yinwan. 1997 Mr. Qiu published an article "A Preliminary Study of SHEN WOO's Fu" in Cultural Relics, indicating that the word "Zuo Zi" was unclear.
Cai Wei has always admired Mr. Qiu. He fell in love with ancient Chinese characters because he was influenced by Mr. Qiu, so he immediately wrote a letter to Mr. Qiu, saying that "left" here should be understood as "zi" and "zi" is an exclamation. After reading the letter, Mr. Qiu was deeply inspired and publicly stated that it was "right".
Teacher Qiu believes that the strength should be further studied, at least for postgraduate study; Cai Wei really wants to go, but his English is too poor to be admitted normally.
With the help of Fudan University's work "Integration of Bamboo Slips and Silk Books in Mawangdui Han Tomb", Mr. Qiu and Fudan University professors were hired to join the team. On the one hand, they provided Cai Wei with a rare learning opportunity, on the other hand, they also wanted to change Cai Wei's mind.
But his wife's illness completely overwhelmed Cai Wei. Before, the rubber factory in Cai Wei closed down because of poor efficiency, and Cai Wei was forced to be unemployed and laid off, so he had to work as a small vendor, leaving early and returning late.
In 2007, Cai Wei's wife suddenly fell ill, and the high cost of treatment undoubtedly made the poor family worse. In order to survive, Cai Wei had to give up the study of ancient Chinese characters, which he had been insisting on for more than ten or twenty years, and use his study time to engage in tricycle work.
Mr. Qiu didn't want to see such talents abandoned, so he specifically discussed with other professors and persuaded the admissions team to include them in the doctoral admission list, or Mr. Qiu personally brought them. In this way, Cai Wei's life finally came to a turning point because of his own efforts. In 2009, 38-year-old Cai Weicheng was a doctoral student at Fudan University.
After graduation, Cai Wei entered Anshun University as a teacher. Now he can not only continue to study the ancient Chinese characters he loves, but also shoulder the heavy responsibility of family. "Opportunities only favor those who are prepared", and how you treat life will be rewarded by life.
