Brief introduction of Kunming University of Science and Technology
Kunming University of Science and Technology is a comprehensive key university jointly established by the Bureau of Science, Technology and Industry for National Defense and the People's Government of Yunnan Province. It has been selected into "Basic Capacity Building Project of Central and Western Universities", National "Key Discipline Project with Characteristics", National Postgraduate Project of Building High-level Universities, "Excellent Engineer Education and Training Plan" of Ministry of Education, China Government Scholarship Receiving Institution for Foreign Students in China, National College Students' Innovation Experiment Plan, National College Students' Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Plan, the first batch of "New Engineering" research and practice projects of Ministry of Education, and the first batch of demonstration universities in China to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education. China "Hundred Schools Project", the first batch of universities' scientific and technological achievements transformation and technology transfer bases, one of the first six universities selected as national innovative talents training demonstration bases, one of the two universities in China that have established national international technology transfer centers, and a member of CDIO Engineering Education Alliance.
The school was founded in 1954, formerly known as Kunming University of Science and Technology. 1995 was renamed Kunming University of Science and Technology; 1999 The former Kunming University of Science and Technology merged with the former Yunnan University of Technology to form a new Kunming University of Science and Technology. In February 2004, Yunnan Analysis and Testing Center was registered and established.
