Tsinghua University has cooperative relations with many foreign universities. In just 20 16, Tsinghua University has successively signed strategic scientific research cooperation agreements with the Australian University of New South Wales, the Canadian universities of university of alberta and Waterloo, Imperial College London, the Japanese Institute of Physics and Chemistry, and the University of California, Berkeley.

The cooperation units in the United States include West Virginia University, Los Alamos National Laboratory, General Electric, Duke Energy, etc.
In the "Building Energy Conservation Alliance", Academician Jiang Yi from the School of Architecture of Tsinghua University, as the technical director, undertakes the "Building Energy Conservation Cooperation Project-Building Energy Consumption Monitoring and Simulation", and the American partners include Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory, University of California, Davis, Dow Chemical Company, etc.
