In 2003, it became a master's degree awarding unit. On March 20 16, it was renamed as Gannan Normal University. The school is located in Ganzhou, a national historical and cultural city and a sub-central city of Jiangxi Province. There are three campuses, Rongjiang, Zhanggong and Baita (University Science Park), covering an area of more than 2,200 mu.
