Guangzhou University Town, located in Xiaoguwei Street, Panyu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province, is located on both sides of the Pearl River, with an area of 34.4 square kilometers. The first phase is located in Xiaoguwei Island, with an area of 18 square kilometers.
The overall planning and construction of Guangzhou University Town was officially started in June 2003, and the first phase of the project was officially completed in June 2003. September 2004 1, the first phase entered ten universities, namely: Sun Yat-sen University, South China University of Technology, South China Normal University, Guangzhou University, Guangdong University of Foreign Studies, Guangzhou University of Chinese Medicine, Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, Guangdong University of Technology, Guangzhou Academy of Fine Arts and Xinghai Conservatory of Music.
Jinan University and Guangzhou Medical University settled in the second phase of Guangzhou University Town. The first phase of Guangzhou University Town is located in the southeast of Guangzhou, on Xiaoguwei Island in Panyu District, adjacent to Luoxi Island in the west, Biological Island in the north, cheung chau island in the east and Pazhou Island in the east. With an area of 17.9 square kilometers, Xiaoguwei Island is a rare island university in the world, providing a natural paradise.
