Beijing Normal University is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education and the Central Government of People's Republic of China (PRC). Ranked in the top two, 985 project and 2 1 1 project. It is a famous university with teacher education, educational science and basic disciplines of arts and sciences as its main features.

The predecessor of the school is Shi Jing University Teachers College, which was founded in 1902. 1923, the school was renamed as Beijing Normal University, becoming the first normal university in the history of China. After more than one hundred years of development, Beijing Normal University has an important influence in many fields, such as pedagogy, psychology, literature, history, philosophy, and neo-Confucianism.
