Mr. Chen Datong joined Northern Lights Venture Capital in 2005, bringing more than 20 years of technical and management experience in semiconductor and communication fields to Northern Lights. He is the co-founder and CEO of Spreadtrum Communications, which designs 2.5G and 3G mobile phone IC chips for China and Silicon Valley, and the co-founder of OmniVision Technology, a leading supplier of SMOS image sensors. From 1992 to 1995, Mr. Chen worked for American National Semiconductor Company and held more than 20 patents. He received his bachelor's, master's and doctor's degrees in electronic engineering in Tsinghua University, and worked as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Illinois and Stanford University.
