How old is Tsukuba University in Japan?
The University of Tsukuba was formerly known as Tokyo University of Education. The predecessor of Tokyo University of Education was 1872, a "normal school", which was originally aimed at training primary school teachers. 1873 was renamed "Tokyo Normal School". 1885 merged with Tokyo Women's Normal School. 1886 was renamed as "Higher Normal School" and became a government-run school. 1902, with the establishment of Hiroshima Normal University, it was renamed "Tokyo Normal University", so it was called "East Tsukuba, West Hiroshima" from now on. As the earliest education university in Japan, No.2 Middle School plays an important role in the field of education. After World War II, with the dissolution of Tokyo University of Education and the establishment of Tsukuba University, its position and influence in the education session gradually declined, while Hiroshima University, as the base camp of Japanese education, still has considerable influence and is known as the "learning valve". This is another story.

1929, the school merged with Tokyo University of Arts and Sciences, with four disciplines, three sciences and one physical education. In 1960s, due to the narrow campus, the government decided to move to Tsukuba, and the school was renamed as Tsukuba University on 1973.

According to historical inheritance, it has a history of 142 years so far this year. Generally speaking, the historical development and discipline setting of Tsukuba University are similar to those of Beijing Normal University.
