School of Economics of Sichuan University 1985 1 1 was established with the approval of the State Education Commission. Its predecessor, the Department of Economics, was founded in 1905 with a history of 100 years. Contemporary famous economists Peng, Song Tao, Hu Daiguang, Tao Dayong, Hu Jichuang, Liu, etc. all studied or taught in this department. The college consists of six teaching units, including the Department of Economics, the Department of National Economic Management, the Department of International Economics and Trade, the Department of Finance, the Department of Finance and Taxation, and the Department of English Teaching, and two research units, including the South Asia Institute.
