Bedrock fissure water is mainly distributed in red bed continental clastic sedimentary rocks, clastic rocks, Banxi group shallow metamorphic rocks and magmatic rocks, and widely distributed in Xinhua, Huaihua and Zhenyuan areas. Generally speaking, bedrock fissure water is relatively poor, but it is rich in fault zone, fault intersection and contact zone between rock mass and surrounding rock.

Quaternary pore water is distributed in Cenozoic sags or fault basins and valleys. Quaternary pore water changes dispersedly along the line, and its thickness is generally less than 10m. The floodplain is rich in groundwater, and the recharge and occurrence conditions of the first terrace and the first terrace groundwater are poor. There are fewer springs on the upper surface of the higher terrace, and the groundwater is generally non-erosive.
