The school was founded in 1956, and moved to Chongqing from Shanghai First Medical College (now Shanghai Medical College of Fudan University). Its predecessor was Chongqing Medical College, and 1985 was renamed Chongqing Medical University.
The school is the first batch of units with the right to award doctoral and master's degrees approved by the State Council Academic Degrees Committee and the first batch of demonstration bases for studying in China approved by the Ministry of Education. In 20 15, the school became a university approved by the Chongqing Municipal People's Government, the National Health and Family Planning Commission (formerly the National Health and Family Planning Commission) and the Ministry of Education. In 20 16, it became one of the first local universities to set up the "Academic Innovation and Intelligence Introduction Program for Colleges and Universities" ("1plan").
The school consists of Yuanjiagang Campus in Yuzhong District and Jinyun Campus in Chongqing University Town, with a total campus area of 2,650 mu, of which Jinyun Campus covers 2 100 mu. The campus environment is beautiful and picturesque. The school has 2 1 college (department), 1 graduate school and 36 undergraduate majors.
There are 13 first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites in China and 18 first-class undergraduate specialty construction sites in Chongqing. Clinical medicine, stomatology, nursing and traditional Chinese medicine have passed the professional certification of the Ministry of Education. Now it has 1 national clinical teaching and training demonstration centers, 4 national experimental teaching demonstration centers, 7 national excellent courses, 4 national excellent resources * * * classes and 3 national excellent video open classes.
Scientific research achievements:
According to the school official website on June 20th,19, 1 1, since the 12th Five-Year Plan, the school has taken the lead in undertaking major national science and technology projects, major national scientific research programs, key national R&D programs, key national basic research and development programs (973 programs) and national high-tech research and development programs (863 programs).
Won more than 20 awards for various scientific and technological achievements/kloc-0, including 3 second prizes for national scientific and technological progress, and more than 60 provincial and ministerial awards such as Chongqing Science and Technology Award and China Medical Science and Technology Award.
The high-intensity focused ultrasound tumor treatment system (Haifu knife) independently developed by our school is the first in the world, and it is the first large-scale medical equipment with completely independent intellectual property rights in China. Since industrialization, Haifu series equipment has been put into use in more than 0/000 hospitals nationwide, and exported to dozens of countries and regions such as the European Union, Russia, Japan, South Korea and Singapore.
20 1 1 At the end of the year, the national major scientific research instrument "spherical focused sound acquisition system" developed by our school was supported by the National Natural Science Foundation of China for 60 million yuan.
