Northeast Petroleum University, referred to as Dongyou for short, is known as the Whampoa Military Academy in the oil industry. Daqing City, located in the southwest of Heilongjiang Province, is the regional central city of Harbin-Changzhou urban agglomeration (referring to Harbin, Daqing, Qiqihar, Suihua and other economic cooperation zones), which belongs to the new second-tier cities, and its economic development level is no less than that of the new first-tier cities. In addition, Daqing, where Northeast Petroleum University is located, is also a famous tourist and cultural city in Heilongjiang Province, known as the city of green oil, the city of natural lakes and the hometown of hot springs in the north.

Founded in 1960, the school is a university that focuses on engineering, with the coordinated development of engineering, science, management, literature, economics, law, teaching and art. It can be seen from this that Dongyou is located in Daqing City, the capital of oil, but it does not run through the discipline construction with oil as the main body. At the beginning of its establishment, there were engineering, management literature and art. After decades of development and construction, all majors have been cultivated quite maturely.

The school is very big and beautiful, about 2500 acres. There is a main road around the whole campus. Tall trees were planted on both sides of the main road. In autumn, the ground is golden, which is an excellent opportunity to take pictures. There is also an artificial lake in the school. In summer, the lake is full of lotus leaves and lotus flowers. If you are careful enough, you will find that every corner of the school is covered with all kinds of exotic flowers and grasses.
