Inner Mongolia Normal University (formerly Inner Mongolia Normal University) is the earliest institution of higher learning established by the Party and the state in frontier ethnic areas after the founding of New China. It is a key university in the autonomous region, supported by the state's "Revitalization Plan for Higher Education in the Midwest" and the Ministry of Education's "Counterpart Support for Colleges and Universities in the Western Region".
