The school was founded in Hankou Aviation Industry School on 1952, and was renamed as Zhongnan No.1 Industrial School on 1953. 1954 moved to Nanchang, and 1956 was renamed Nanchang Aviation Industry School. 1978 was renamed Nanchang Institute of Aviation Industry. In 2007, it was renamed Nanchang Hangkong University.

5. Jiangxi University of Science and Technology is a teaching and research university which focuses on engineering and combines engineering with management, economy, law, literature, art, education and other disciplines, and has the right to accept overseas Chinese, Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan students and students studying abroad.
