The early building complex of Wuhan University, located by the East Lake in Wuhan, was completed on 1936. It is one of the core scenic spots of Wuhan East Lake Scenic Area, a national 5A-level tourist scenic spot, and still serves as a teaching base and one of the national key cultural relics protection units.

From 2065438 to September 2006, the early buildings of Wuhan University were selected as "the first batch of China 20th century architectural heritages".
