In 2022, the school successfully passed the first round of "double-first-class" construction evaluation and entered the second round of construction of colleges and universities, and the electrical engineering discipline was selected as the second round of "double-first-class" construction discipline.
School 1958 was founded in Beijing, formerly known as Beijing Electric Power Institute. The school has long been managed by the state electric power department. The school is headquartered in Beijing, with Baoding campus, and the two places implement integrated management. The school has nearly 3 100 staff, including more than 24,000 full-time undergraduates and 20,000 graduate students. The school covers an area of 1.600 mu, and the building area is 1 10,000 square meters.
