Guangdong Pharmaceutical University, one of the three major pharmaceutical universities in China, is the first institution of higher learning in South China to offer a series of pharmacy majors. 1958 Established Guangdong Health Cadre College; 1978, upgraded to an ordinary undergraduate college, named Guangdong Medical College; 1994 was renamed as Guangdong Pharmaceutical University; 20 16 was officially renamed as "Guangdong Pharmaceutical University" with the approval of the Ministry of Education.

Since its establishment, the school has been adhering to the motto of "Chinese and Western medicine, medical ethics to help the world" and carrying forward the school spirit of "inspirational perseverance, integration and innovation". Now it has developed into a unique institution of higher learning that focuses on medicine, combines medicine with medicine, integrates medicine with production, and develops in a multi-disciplinary way.

The school has five campuses in Guangzhou (University Town, Chigang and Baogang), Zhongshan and Yunfu, covering an area of nearly 5,300 mu. There are 19 colleges (departments) and 2 directly affiliated tertiary hospitals.

There are 49 undergraduate majors, which is one of the most complete universities in China. Among them, pharmaceutical preparations, pharmaceutics of traditional Chinese medicine and pharmaceutical analysis were ranked 8th, 9th and 10 in China University and Discipline Evaluation Report (20 19-2020) and 2nd and 1 0 in the whole province respectively. 13 pharmacy, clinical medicine, pharmaceutical preparations, traditional Chinese medicine and other majors are national and provincial first-class undergraduate professional construction points.

Drug analysis, traditional Chinese medicine analysis and health statistics are national first-class undergraduate courses, and internal medicine 19 course is provincial first-class undergraduate courses. There are more than 24,000 full-time undergraduates, postgraduates and international students.

As of June 9, 2020, there were 1733 faculty members, including full-time teachers 14 10, with master's and doctoral degrees accounting for 90.8%, senior professional and technical positions accounting for 44.8%, and more than 300 doctors and master's tutors.
