There are 48 majors in applied electronic technology, mold design and manufacturing, tourism management, fashion design, secretarial and preschool education, including 6 provincial high-level majors, 2 majors supported by the central government to improve the development ability of professional service industry in higher vocational colleges, 2 provincial demonstration majors, 5 provincial key majors, 3 provincial brand majors, provincial modern apprenticeship pilot majors 10, and national modern apprenticeship pilot project.
The college, formerly Laolong Normal School, was founded in 1930. 1933, the school was renamed as "Longchuan County Simple Normal School", and the school site is located in the main road of Longchuan County; 1March, 935, with the approval of the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education, the school was renamed as "Guangdong Laolong Normal School"; 1937, the school moved from thoroughfare to Laolong; 2001May was approved by Guangdong Provincial People's Government and upgraded to heyuan polytechnic.
