Shanxi Medical University, referred to as Yi Shan for short, is a multidisciplinary full-time general institution of higher learning with medicine as the main body, which is organized by the Shanxi Provincial People's Government and headed by the Shanxi Provincial Department of Education. It is the first batch of pilot units of excellent physician education and training program of the Ministry of Education, one of the 25 medical colleges offering seven-year clinical medicine specialty in China, and the first batch of eight medical colleges restoring pediatric undergraduate specialty in China.
