Its predecessor was the Department of Stomatology of Ningxia Health School, which was established in 1985. In 2002, Ningxia Health School was merged into Ningxia Medical College. In June 2003, the Department of Stomatology of Ningxia Medical College was established. In 2008, it was renamed School of Stomatology, Ningxia Medical University.
