The School of Journalism and Communication of Guangxi University has four undergraduate majors: journalism, radio and television, advertising, broadcasting and hosting, and implements a large-scale enrollment and diversion training model; At present, the right to award master's degree in journalism and communication has been granted, and two master's programs in two disciplines have all been covered.

The master's degree in journalism includes three directions: news theory and history, news business and radio and television news, and the master's degree in communication includes three directions: mass communication and society, cultural industry and media integration.

From September 2065438 to September 2003, the School of Journalism and Communication began to recruit graduate students in Media Economics and Advertising. On August 2nd, 20 1 1, the School of Journalism and Communication held an independent evaluation meeting for master's degree programs in secondary disciplines outside the first-level discipline catalogue, and media economics and advertising successfully passed the expert evaluation.

The judging meeting was presided over by Professor Tong Bing, a famous journalist in China, the convener of the original judging group of the journalism and communication department of the State Council Academic Degree Committee, the director of the State Key Research Base of the journalism and communication department of Fudan University and the doctoral supervisor.

Professor Shang Nahong, Dean of the School of Journalism and Communication, gave a report on the historical evolution, professional layout, discipline construction, personnel training and development goals of the school, expounded the construction of the two disciplines to be established-media economics and advertising, and answered the questions raised by the expert group.

After careful consideration, the expert group agreed that the School of Journalism and Communication of Guangxi University should independently set up a second-level master's degree program, Media Economics and Advertising, based on the actual needs of Guangxi's economic construction and social development, and lay a good job in "ASEAN Brand", "Regional Brand", "National Brand" and "Western Brand".

The subject features are outstanding, the existing foundation is solid, and all kinds of software and hardware conditions are sufficient. Especially relying on "Southwest Talent Training Base of General Administration of Press and Publication" and "China-ASEAN Cultural Industry (Media) Talent Training Base", the journalism education of Guangxi University is unique among the journalism departments in China, and it can become a demonstration unit of Industry-University-Research and a national news communication officer.
