After writing Swallow and Tiger, a friend asked me that Tiger and Swallow are completely different, but you can write them together to describe the different personalities of Lin Qingxuan, a literary master.
Come to think of it, what he said is not unreasonable. We usually describe a person as fierce as a tiger or as light as a swallow.
If you describe a person as a tiger for a while and a swallow for a while, this cross-border scope is indeed a bit large.
The reason why they apply their different personalities to the same person is not only because I have read the Swallow in the Great Compassion Hall by Mr. Lin, but also because Mr. Lin has promoted Buddhism all his life, just like a swallow in the Great Compassion Hall, whispering with his own voice and telling the Buddha's entrustment to all beings.
After reading the book Bodhi of the Heart with 654.38+08,000 words, I suddenly have a feeling that the writer is guarding the spiritual value of human beings by himself, which is what we often call "truth, goodness and beauty".
How can a person have such great power? So I thought of the tiger listening to the scriptures outside the temple, so I compared Mr. Wang's guardian to the ferocity of the tiger. Mr. Wang's protection of human spiritual values is like a tiger guarding a temple gate.
This is of course my wishful thinking. If Mr. Wang were still alive, of course, he might not agree with me to describe him like this. Fortunately, Mr. Wang left us forever.
Only his works and his dedication to all beings are immortal.
In order to facilitate reading, I extracted a paragraph from Mr. Wang's article, please share it with us.
? Lin Qingxuan's Swallow in the Hall of Great Compassion (Excerpt)
All the way down to the corridors and classrooms of the Women's Buddhist College, the Great Compassion Hall is full of bird's nests. Every step up, there are one or two bird's nests, and some bird's nests even completely cover the chandelier on the ceiling, so that they can't be seen when the lights are turned on. But monks are kind, and they all like swallows. What is a lamp before life?
Almost at the same time as the Buddha beat the drums, the swallows began to build nests. So one or two hundred swallows were singing in the sky at the same time.
Master doesn't know the number of swallows in Great Compassion Hall, and he doesn't know the age of swallows.
A master said it well. She said, "Don't underestimate these swallows. They can listen to the scriptures. Swallows always fly out on time every morning and evening. The sky is full of swallows. Usually, it is sparse. "
As for how to gather so many swallows, Master said that the solemnity, purity, compassion and happiness of Buddhist temples are omnipotent and sensible to all beings. This is the safest place in the world, so dogs come from nowhere in the Great Compassion Hall. They often crouch in front of the temple. The big lake next to the temple is full of red and white lotus flowers, and there are countless fish in the lake, which will surface when listening to the scriptures.
In the past, in temples in the deep mountains and forests, tigers and foxes often squatted in your highness to listen to the scriptures. It is said that there was a mage chanting scriptures, and seven or eight tigers came to listen. Half of the people heard someone dozing off. The mage went over and patted him on the cheek and said, "Don't fall asleep while listening to the scriptures."
We didn't have a chance to see the tiger smell the dharma, but it was fate to see the swallow salute the Buddha and the fish swim out to listen. Isn't it just as touching?
All beings are like this, why can't people always be alert?
