Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine, formerly known as Gansu College of Traditional Chinese Medicine, was founded in 1978. 1989 school established the department of Tibetan medicine on the basis of Tibetan medicine major in Gannan Health School, and gradually developed into a college of Tibetan medicine with master's degree awarding qualification. Dingxi Normal University was integrated in 20 14, and the school was officially renamed Gansu University of Traditional Chinese Medicine in 20 15.
