Whampoa Military Academy, the full name of China Kuomintang Army Academy, is a famous military academy in modern China, which trained many famous commanders in the civil wars in War of Resistance against Japanese Aggression and China. The Military Academy was established in 1924, with the purpose of training officers for the National Revolutionary Army, which was the main military force of the National Government in the Northern Expedition to unify China. The first to sixth phases of cooperation between China and Chinese mainland were originally located in cheung chau island, Huangpu District, Guangzhou City, Guangdong Province. Huangpu Military Academy was changed to Central Army Military Academy in 1927, and then to Army Military Academy in 1946. When the Kuomintang moved to Taiwan, it moved to Fengshan City, Kaohsiung County, Taiwan Province Province.
