Brief Introduction of Peking University Transnational Law School
Established in 2008, Peking University Transnational Law School (PKU-STL) is the first and only law school in Chinese mainland that combines the American law education model (J.D.) with the traditional China law master education model (J.M.) to train legal talents. The College is committed to training transnational legal talents with international vision and global competitiveness for China in the era of globalization. The first dean of the College is Professor Jeffrey Lehman, a world-renowned legal education leader, former president of Cornell University in the United States and winner of the "Friendship Award" of the China government. The current dean is Professor Philip McConnaughay, former dean of Pennsylvania State University Law School, and Stephen jander, former vice president of Yale Law School, is the vice president. The college has a strong faculty and employs world-renowned law professors, famous justices and outstanding lawyers as visiting professors. 1STL is a young law school, and its innovative frontier legal education project 2 has successfully attracted the attention of world-class law firms, companies and government agencies. STL's growing team of resident full-time professors is comparable to the teachers of any top law school in the world. The first-class laws of 3STL graduates' work belong to Fonda, Jin Mu, Hejun and kirkland &; Ellis, Hillman & Sterling, Paul Weiss, Simpson Thatcher, etc. The top companies are: Huawei, Tencent, Baidu, Wal-Mart, China Development Bank and PricewaterhouseCoopers. Important departments in the post include the Supreme People's Court, UNHCR and China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Association.
