Hefei University is a local undergraduate college that was born in reform, grew up in opening up and developed in innovation. Its predecessor was Hefei Union University, which was founded in 1980.
Yang Chengzong, the founding president, is a doctoral student of Mrs Elena Joliot-Curie and the founder of radiochemistry in China. In March 2002, with the approval of the Ministry of Education, the former Hefei Union University, Hefei Education College and Hefei Normal College merged to form Hefei College.
The school is the only university member of the Sino-German Economic Advisory Committee. There are "China Anhui-German Center" and "China Hefei-Korean Center" to provide services for regional foreign cooperation.
At present, there are more than 0.5 million full-time students 1 person, who enjoy the special government allowance of the State Council. There are 424 people with technical secondary school titles or above (including Gao Zheng 130 people) and 260 people with doctoral degrees. There are more than 20 foreign teachers in the school all the year round, among whom 4 have won the Friendship Award of China Municipal Government and 1 1 Huangshan Friendship Award.
