This film is adapted from John Galsworthy's novella The Apple Tree.

The story takes place in a small village in England. Lawyer Frank and his friends accidentally sprained their ankles on their way out, so they had to stay in a small village nearby. Here, Frank met Megan, a beautiful and hardworking peasant girl. Megan has been growing up with her aunt since her parents died. May could have married her aunt's son Joe, but Frank's appearance aroused ripples in the heart of the seed girl of love.

Frank also began to have a good impression on Megan, but his enthusiasm for Megan was opposed by Aunt Megan's family. Joe, in particular, is full of hostility towards Frank.
