News Center News 201April 1 1 Sunday, Fudan University officially awarded Liu Zunyi, the chairman of CIC International (Hong Kong) Co., Ltd., the former president of the Chinese University of Hong Kong and a famous economist, an honorary doctorate in economics. The degree awarding ceremony was held in Guanghua Building of Fudan University on the same day. Yang Zaiyi, president of Fudan University and chairman of academic degree evaluation committee, read out the decision of the State Council Academic Degrees Committee and presented Mr. Liu Zunyi with the honorary doctorate certificate of Fudan University. Vice President Feng introduced the situation and achievements of Mr. Liu Zunyi at the ceremony. Lu Yun, vice president of our school and dean of the graduate school, presided over the award ceremony that day.

Xu Guanhua, former Minister of Science and Technology, Liao Min, Director of Shanghai Banking Regulatory Bureau, Zhang Wenyi, Chairman of the Board, and Liu Xin, Professor of School of Life Sciences, Sun Yat-sen University also attended the ceremony. Mr. Liu Zunyi's family, relatives and friends, and more than 230 representatives of Fudan University's teachers and students witnessed this important moment.

After the ceremony, Liu Zunyi delivered an impromptu academic speech entitled "Shanghai and Hong Kong can jointly build a world financial center" to all the teachers, students and audience present.

Introduction to Liu Zunyi:

Mr. Liu Zunyi, 1944, a native of Zunyi, Guizhou. 1964 received a bachelor of science degree in physics and economics from Stanford University, and a master's degree and a doctor's degree from the University of California, Berkeley. He is currently the chairman of CIC International (Hong Kong) Limited.

Mr. Liu Zunyi, 1966, has been teaching in the Economics Department of Stanford University. He was promoted to professorship in 1976, and became the first professorship of economic development in Li Guoding in 1992. 1992 to 1996 as joint directors); Stanford university Asia-Pacific research center. 1997- 1999 as the director of Stanford Economic Policy Research Institute; In 2006, he was awarded the honorary professor of economic development in Li Guoding by Stanford University. Since 2004, Liu Zunyi has been the President of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and now he is concurrently the Professor of Economics of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, Lan Ruofu and Lan Kaili.

Mr. Liu Zunyi specializes in economic development and growth, and East Asian economies including China. China's earliest econometric model was established in 1966, and he has been improving it ever since. Mr. Liu Zunyi has written 5 monographs and published more than 60 papers/kloc-0 in academic journals.

Mr. Liu Zunyi is currently a member of Phi Beta Kappa Society, Tau Beta Pi Society, Econometrics Society, Academia Sinica of Taiwan Province Province, Income and Wealth Research Conference, Overseas Fellow of Churchill College of Cambridge University, Honorary Fellow of China Academy of Social Sciences and Fellow of International Eurasian Academy of Sciences. From 65438 to 0999, he received an honorary doctorate in social sciences from Hong Kong University of Science and Technology, and an honorary doctorate in law from Soka University and Waseda University in 2007. Mr Liu Zunyi has been the president of Fudan University since 2007.
