Peking University Institute of Software and Microelectronics, formerly known as Peking University Computer Center, was established in 1978 and is one of the earliest computer research institutions in China. 1994, the former Peking University Computer Center merged with the Institute of Microelectronics to establish the Institute of Software and Microelectronics. At present, the college has many undergraduate majors such as computer science, software engineering, microelectronics science and engineering, information science and technology, and many departments such as computer science and technology, software engineering, microelectronics and information science.
