Princeton University, referred to as "Princeton" for short, is a private research university, founded in 1746, located in Princeton, New Jersey, on the east coast of the United States. It is one of the founding institutions of 14 in association of american universities and a member of the Ivy League. Dawn Presbyterian Church founded this school in Elizabethtown, New Jersey on 1746.
It was the fourth institution of higher learning established during the American colonial period, and was named "New Jersey College" at that time. 1747 school moved to New Jersey, 1756 moved to the scenic city of Princeton (between Philadelphia and new york), 1896 officially changed its name to "Princeton University".
