East Lansing is a city in Michigan, USA.
The city is located in Lansing, directly east of the capital of Michigan.
Most of the city is located in a small part of Ingham County, but it is located in Clinton County.
At the time of the 2000 census, the population was 46,525.

As a member of the top ten leagues, Michigan State University is the largest educational institution in Michigan (the largest in the United States for the eighth time), reflecting the history of East Lansing as a university town.
Michigan State University has more than 200 research programs, including two schools of human medicine (MD and DO) and a veterinary college (DVM), as well as numerous doctoral programs.
Lansing is home to several other colleges, including Thomas M. Cooley Law School, the largest law school in the United States (with participants), Davenport University, community college and Lansing.

The area also includes a small number of surrounding Lansing, Lansing Town and Jingxiang.
