How to choose a school and major after the college entrance examination?
The core theme of this answer is: how to screen schools.

According to the data of the Ministry of Education, as of June 30, 2020, there were 3,005 institutions of higher learning in China. Among them, there are 2740 ordinary colleges and universities, including undergraduate colleges 1258 and higher vocational colleges1482; There are 265 adult colleges and universities.

There are nearly 3,000 colleges and universities in China, which is a huge number. This is also a big obstacle for many students to fill in their volunteers. There are so many schools that I don't know how to choose.

In response to this problem, Bouguer compiled some words today. I don't know how to screen college students and parents.

First, select institutions according to their majors. First of all, I think when choosing an institution, it is best to determine your major direction first and choose an institution according to your major.

From Bug's study to his present job, Bug always feels that the university has followed us for four years, but the major has followed us all his life.

We will often see that many college students are not engaged in their own majors now, but note that although this is a normal state, I think it is a very bad phenomenon.

The importance of specialty has been discussed in many articles, so I won't elaborate here. Let's talk briefly about how to choose a major.

Conditional parents had better give their children relevant assessments, such as occupational character assessment and academic ability assessment. It is mainly to let students know more about their strengths and weaknesses through the evaluation of these majors, which is very helpful for them to know themselves.

Such as professional needs assessment, psychological needs assessment and so on.

The choice of major is as important as the college entrance examination. What major a university chooses can sometimes determine your life in the next four years or even longer.

The choice of major lies in the combination of personal interests, abilities and various external conditions. What needs to be considered is whether this major is suitable for children, not only whether this major is popular, but also whether children like it or not.

It must be noted that students can't just look at whether they like it or not. To tell the truth, many students' likes are very one-sided.

On the one hand, because many students know a certain major, they probably know it literally, or through a few words from friends and elders around the network, so it is very one-sided.

On the other hand, because I like this subjective emotion, it is easy to change.

For example, last year, I received a girl who wanted to apply for forensic medicine. She asked because she saw the forensic doctor Qin Ming. First, Qin Ming is very stylish in the play. Second, she thinks this method of solving crimes is very, very cool.

Moreover, it is very important that the above situation is not uncommon. In recent years, many students come into contact with a certain major and are often influenced by a certain drama, something or someone.

Not to say that the above situation is not good. After all, many times interest can drive people forward, but the problem is that you like it, which doesn't mean you are suitable.

Suitability is the most important thing, otherwise it will only hurt your feet.

Then, how to judge whether you are suitable or not, and it is best to carry out relevant evaluation.

If you don't want to comment, you can also understand it in the following way.

1, you have to have a deep understanding of this major: for example, what are the courses you study in the university, what are the core competencies you need to master (this is very important), what is the industry you can engage in, what is the current basic salary of this major, and what is the school level you can go to based on this major (this is also very important, which determines the resources you get in the university);

2. Understand the industry of this major: industry status, basic salary, required ability, highly related industries, etc.

After knowing enough information, according to your own ability, the ability here is not whether you have the ability needed by this major now, but whether you have this potential at present.

Second, select institutions according to regions. I think everyone will have their own favorite place, because we need to live in the university for 4 years, and you are likely to work in the city after graduation.

If you can choose a place you like to live, it is also a pleasant thing.

Therefore, you can choose your favorite school among the institutions selected in the previous step and further screen.

Third, screening schools through the gradient setting of colleges and universities. In a reasonable and scientific form of volunteering, it is generally divided into three gradients: upward, middle and guaranteed. A reasonable score interval should be set between the target institutions of each gradient, otherwise the scores will be too dense and easy to fall behind.

Let me take the volunteer form in Guangdong as an example to explain how to set the gradient between institutions. The total score of the college entrance examination in Guangdong is 750, and the number of voluntary colleges for undergraduate and junior college students is 15.

In view of the situation in Guangdong, the range and number of scores of colleges and universities with high-impact, medium-stability and low-guarantee are as follows (note that this is for provinces with 750 points):

1, Shangchong College

Number of institutions: 2-3.

Score interval:

There are two situations between upward partitions. First, I want to rush to colleges and universities and want to protect my major. The second is to rush to colleges and universities.

PS: If you are sure to major, you don't have to rush to college. If you go to college, you will definitely lose your major and have a great chance of being transferred.

In the first case, if you want to major in colleges and universities, I generally suggest setting a score higher than 10-15. If your score is 500, the score range is 5 10-5 15.

The reason for this setting: the score range is a bit large, and it is a bit difficult to meet your psychology of wanting to protect your major; But if you really rush up, it is also a comfort to your psychology of rushing to colleges and universities.

Of course, this is based on your indecisive judgment. I've always suggested that you major in insurance.

If it is the second case, I am bent on rushing to colleges and universities, that is, setting the score within 10, so the chances of rushing will be greater.

Shanghai Chong College requires: Compared with the ranking of colleges and universities in the past three years, your ranking must be higher than the target institution for at least one year; Shangchong colleges try to choose this province, and the enrollment scale is relatively large.

2. Moderately stable colleges and universities

Number of institutions: 7-8.

Score interval: this will also be divided into two situations, this province and other provinces.

Guangdong Province: The score can be reduced to 10-30.

Outside Guangdong Province: The score can be reduced to 10-20.

Requirements for moderately stable institutions: Choose a relatively stable institution among your favorite institutions, with a difference of 3-4 points (not absolute) for each institution.

3. Guarantee institutions

Number of institutions: 5-6.

Score range: Your score drops by 20-50 points, and the difference between each institution is 4-5 points.

Requirements of guaranteed colleges and universities: choose your favorite colleges and majors.

You may feel a little suspicious when you see the difference between the above scores and those of colleges and universities, and think that a lot of scores will be wasted, but you should understand that volunteering depends not only on the admission score of the school, but also on the professional score of the school. Professional scores are the most important. After all, we are going to study a major, not that school.

However, the professional scores of a school often have a gap of more than ten or twenty points. The following picture shows the 20 19 admission score for liberal arts majors in South China Normal University. You can pay attention to it yourself.

Fourth, based on the professional direction of colleges and universities. When choosing a school, you must have a goal direction, depending on whether the major your target institution is good at conforms to your subject attributes.

How do you say the subject attribute?

For example, if you are good at science and engineering, you should consider whether the dominant major of this school is in the direction of science and engineering when choosing a school.

Why are you doing this?

Quite simply, school resources are tilted.

Generally, schools will spend the greatest energy on the dominant majors. If you choose this major, it will be of great help to your future development.

Therefore, when we choose institutions, we must give priority to the majors that institutions are good at, so that the resources we borrow from institutions will be more professional.

5. Analyze the same scores of students in this school as those in your school in previous years. For example, if you are a science major with a score of 560 and a ranking of 24,000, you should apply for Shenzhen University.

First of all, you should convert your ranking into the score of the same ranking in the past three years, and then use it to see how many students enrolled in Shenzhen University in the past three years are at the same level as you, and whose score is 5- 10 higher than yours.

If there are a large number of students with higher scores than you, you should seriously consider this school.

If there are a large number of students in the same grade as you, then judge the admission score of your chosen major.

If your score is above the average admission score of this major, then your chances of being admitted will be greater, and this school should take it into account.

Well, that's it. Through the above five steps, I believe that your college will be more suitable for you in the end.
