The School of Law of East China University of Political Science and Law is the oldest and largest secondary college of East China University of Political Science and Law. Since the publication of 1979, a large number of legal talents and legal cadres have been trained for the construction of democracy and legal system in China. Since its establishment six years ago in 2003, Law School has made remarkable achievements in discipline construction, personnel training, teaching staff construction, teaching and scientific research, etc. In 2009, the Law School was awarded as the advanced collective of Shanghai's education system, the school party committee was awarded as the school-level advanced grass-roots party organization, and the school division of labor was awarded the honorary title of "model teacher's small family".
The college has outstanding discipline and scientific research strength. The discipline of legal history in the college is a national key discipline, a key discipline of the Ministry of Justice and a key dominant discipline in Shanghai, and the discipline of criminal law is a key discipline in Shanghai.
The undergraduate teaching team of legal history was rated as the first national teaching team, and the undergraduate teaching team of criminal law was rated as the second municipal teaching team of Shanghai universities. In recent years, the college has held more than 40 academic lectures in the "Forum for Popularizing Law" series, and teachers have published more than 450 papers in core journals, among which many papers have been published in three authoritative journals: China Social Sciences, Legal Studies and China Law, and 65 papers have been published in Xinhua Digest, China Social Sciences Digest, Academic Digest of Liberal Arts in Colleges and Universities and People's Congress respectively.
