Judging from the achievements made by University of Science and Technology Beijing in the fourth round of national discipline evaluation, the university has two A+ disciplines (history of science and technology and metallurgical engineering). Being rated as A+ level discipline means that the discipline level ranks in the top 2 or 2% in the country, which is a high evaluation. The school also has six B+ disciplines, including mechanical engineering, computer science and technology, control science and engineering.

University of Science and Technology Beijing is a 2 1 1 university, a world-class discipline construction university, and a very powerful place among non-98521/universities. It is a national key university directly under the Ministry of Education, and has been selected as an outstanding engineer education and training program.

There are also 23 undergraduate majors selected for the "Double Million Plan", which are rated as national first-class undergraduate majors. Among them, there are distinctive metallurgical engineering, mining engineering, safety engineering and mineral processing engineering, as well as popular engineering majors such as computer science and technology, mechanical engineering, energy and power engineering.
