Beijing Foreign Studies University is the first foreign language college founded by China * * * Production Party. Its predecessor was 194 1 the Russian Brigade of the Third Branch of China Anti-Japanese Military and Political University founded in Yan 'an, and later developed into Yan 'an Foreign Language School under the leadership of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China. After the founding of New China, the school was led by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. 1954 was renamed Beijing foreign studies institute, 1959 merged with Beijing Russian institute to form a new Beijing foreign studies institute. 1980 was directly under the leadership of the Ministry of Education, and 1994 was officially renamed Beijing Foreign Studies University.
Beijing Foreign Studies University has been approved to offer 10 1 a foreign language. At present, the European language family and the Asian-African language family are the largest non-universal language construction bases in China and the first batch of characteristic specialty construction sites of the Ministry of Education.
Beijing Foreign Studies University has 12 1 undergraduate majors, 44 of which are the only majors in China. The school has 4 national key disciplines (including cultivation disciplines) and 7 Beijing key disciplines. There are two doctoral programs in the first-level discipline (foreign languages and literature, management science and engineering), one academic master program in the first-level discipline 1 1, and eight professional master programs.
