Cultivation characteristics
The school has established a new teaching mode with the professor's studio as the main body and the complete credit system as the feature. In the first school year, art-based platform teaching was adopted to provide students with broad-based and cutting-edge necessary professional quality training; In the second year, according to students' potential, interests and achievements, under the evaluation and guidance of teachers, we will provide opportunities to re-select majors; In the third and fourth years, we will gradually transition to professional studio teaching, so that every student can enjoy full development space. Relying on the teaching resources of Fudan University, the school introduces well-known professors and artists from home and abroad to form the backbone of teachers, and often invites well-known art experts and professionals from home and abroad to give lectures and lectures.

The school is located in the center of Shanghai Songjiang University Park, covering an area of more than 740 mu, with a planned total construction area of 6,543,800 square meters. The first phase of school building construction has built modern teaching and living facilities such as teaching building, graphic information center, sports ground and student canteen, with a total area of more than 70,000 square meters. The school buildings under planning and construction include public training center, academic exchange center and teaching building group (Phase II). The school is adjacent to six universities, including Shanghai International Studies University and Donghua University, and can share all kinds of teaching and living resources with Songjiang University Park, providing perfect study and life guarantee for teachers and students.

The school is co-founded by Fudan University, Shanghai Culture Radio and Television Group, Wen Hui Xinmin United Newspaper Group, Shanghai Wen Jing Real Estate (Group) Co., Ltd., Shanghai Wen Jing Investment Co., Ltd., Shanghai Shenjiao Investment Co., Ltd. and Shanghai World Expo (Group) Co., Ltd., and the school board is composed of the above units. The school gives full play to the resource advantages of directors and related industries, promotes the combination of Industry-University-Research, creates multi-channel practice and work-study opportunities for students, and also provides a broad choice space for graduates to find jobs and start businesses.
International platform
The school has set up an international professional advisory committee headed by Professor john mckenzie, former president of London Art College, and its members include the principals of eight internationally renowned art colleges, including St Martin's College, Rhode Island School of Design, French National Academy of Fine Arts, European Union of Art Colleges, Victoria College of Art of Melbourne University, German Art College, Wimbledon Art College and Helsinki College of Art and Design of Finland. As a part of a series of international visual arts forums, in September 2005, the International Expert Advisory Committee of our school and experts from major domestic art colleges held the first international art education forum in Pudong International Conference Center, which laid the foundation for our school to build an academic highland of visual arts education.

The school has five colleges: Academy of Fine Arts, School of Space and Industrial Design, School of Communication Design, School of Fashion Design, School of Media and Film, and three centers: Cultural Industry Research Center, Graphic Information Center and Experimental Training Center. Fudan University, Shanghai school of visual arts, is a newly-built art undergraduate college approved by the Ministry of Education. Students who have completed their studies and passed the examination are awarded the undergraduate diploma of Fudan University, Shanghai school of visual arts.
I. Enrollment Plan
In 2006, our school had painting, sculpture, art design, animation, radio and television director, cultural industry management, advertising, photography, performance, fashion design, engineering and other 10 majors, with 800 students enrolled nationwide.

Second, the examination and registration methods
Candidates from Shanghai, Jiangsu, Zhejiang, Fujian, Anhui, Henan, Jiangxi, Liaoning, Hebei, Shanxi, Sichuan, Chongqing, Hubei, Hunan, Guangdong and Yunnan who apply for all enrollment majors in our school must take the unified entrance examination for cultural courses in ordinary colleges and universities organized by the local provincial enrollment department and the unified examination for corresponding categories of art majors.
Among the above-mentioned unified examination provinces, candidates who apply for sculpture, painting, animation, art design, fashion design and engineering, advertising and photography must take the entrance examination for fine arts majors organized by the local provincial admissions department; Candidates who apply for radio and television director and cultural industry management are required to take the college entrance examination director professional examination organized by the local provincial admissions department; Candidates who apply for the performance major must take the entrance examination for the performance major in colleges and universities organized by the local provincial admissions department. In the provinces and cities that have not organized the unified examination for the corresponding art majors, our school will not arrange the enrollment plan for the corresponding majors in 2006.
In 2006, our school organized a unified examination for fine arts majors in Shandong Province. Candidates from Shandong province who apply for the corresponding fine arts major in our school must take the fine arts major examination organized by our school and the unified examination of the college entrance examination culture course organized by the local provincial admissions department. The registration method of Shandong fine arts professional examination shall be handled according to the corresponding regulations. At the same time, candidates from relevant provinces and cities who apply for performance, fashion design and performance majors must take the professional additional examination organized by our school on the basis of passing the unified examination for provincial art majors (on the basis of passing the unified examination for art majors organized by our school).

Third, the admission rules
The enrollment of our school adheres to the principles of openness, fairness and justice in accordance with the relevant regulations of the higher education authorities.
All the provinces and cities (except Shandong Province) who fill in the majors of painting, sculpture, art design, fashion design and engineering (except the direction of fashion design and performance), animation, advertising, photography, radio and television director and cultural industry management in our college, their unified examination results of art majors and the examination results of culture courses in the college entrance examination.
Candidates who apply for the corresponding major in Shandong Province (except fashion design and performance major) will be selected from high to low according to the proportion of 50% in the examination results of fine arts major and 50% in the examination results of culture course in college entrance examination after passing the examination results of fine arts major organized by our school and reaching the admission control line of local art undergraduate colleges.
Candidates who apply for "Performance Major" and "Fashion Design and Performance Major" will get the total score according to the proportion of 50% in the senior high school entrance examination and 50% in the college entrance examination, and will be admitted from high to low. The results of the unified examination for art majors are used as a reference.
Each major requires an English score of not less than 60.
Fourth, physical examination standards
Based on the Guiding Opinions on Physical Examination of Enrollment in Colleges and Universities formulated by Ministry of Education, Ministry of Health and China Disabled Persons' Federation. All majors require no color blindness and colorless weakness.
Fashion design and performance majors only recruit girls. Applicants should have the basic physical conditions of a fashion model, be over 1.70m (inclusive), have a well-proportioned figure, be under 20 years old (born after 1 September, 986), and be unmarried.
Candidates applying for the performance major are required to be above1.62m for girls and1.72m for boys.
Five, tuition and accommodation standards
Approved by Shanghai Municipal Price Bureau, the charging standard of our school in 2006 is:
Tuition: 22,000 yuan per student per year;
Accommodation: per student per year 1400 yuan (one room for 4 people).
Six, scholarships, loans, grants and security system
Students in our school can apply for national loan scholarships according to relevant regulations. The school has set up scholarships for outstanding students, special scholarships for students with financial difficulties, bursaries and other awards and bursaries, and assisted in providing opportunities for work-study programs.
