How to apply
In order to ensure your successful application for admission, Singapore provides you with detailed school guides. The following are the detailed steps of registration.
Government schools, government-funded schools and autonomous schools
All the above schools accept foreign students, but whether foreign students can enter the school depends on whether there are foreign students in the school.
Submit your application form and relevant documents to the school you enrolled in.
If there are places for foreign students to enter the school, you must pass the school entrance examination before you can enter the school.
If you pass the school entrance examination, the school will send you a notice.
The notice is valid for two weeks. During this period, you must apply for your student permit from ICA Department of Singapore Immigration Bureau. Please inform your school after the student permit is approved.
When you successfully enter the school you enrolled in, the Ministry of Education will send a donation notice to your parents or guardians, asking you to donate S $ 1000. This donation is paid every two years until you graduate.
If your parents work in Singapore, but you don't have family permission, you must apply for student permission from ICA department of Immigration and Registration Bureau before the entrance examination.
If you want to enter the top 30 primary and secondary schools in Singapore, or the top 5 junior colleges, foreign students must first pass the Centralized Qualification Examination (CQT) organized by the Ministry of Education. Students who have successfully passed the exam have received a qualified notice, which they can use to register in government schools and junior colleges. After students register in the school, they must pass the entrance examination of the school before they can enter the school.
In addition, international students can take the qualification examination and apply for more than 80 public schools. The government entrance examination organized by the Singapore Principals Association (PAI) aims to facilitate foreign students to apply for local schools and solve the problem that they have to take different entrance examinations in different schools many times. However, PAI can't arrange schools for students. Students must submit their applications directly to the school.
For more information about the government school entrance qualification examination, such as the list of schools that accept the qualification examination results and the examination date, please check PAI's website or contact PAI directly:
