Shao graduated from Jiangxi Normal University with a major in Chinese language and literature. He is currently a professor in the Chinese Department of Nanchang Staff and Workers University of Science and Technology and the head of the Department of China and Applied Fine Arts. He studied in the postgraduate class of language and culture major of Chinese Department of Fudan University in Shanghai, and published many academic papers on Nanchang dialect research. He is the research leader of the topic "Historical Level of Nanchang Dialect Vocabulary" of Nanchang Social Science Association.
