The old campus of Fuzhou University is located at No.50 Ye Highway, Fuzhou City. Fuzhou University is a national "double-class" construction university, the national "2 1 1 Project" key construction university, and the Fujian Provincial People's Government and the Ministry of Education jointly build universities. Founded in 1958, the school has developed into a key university that combines engineering and science, and has a coordinated development of science, engineering, economics, management, literature, law and art.

The school has two national talent training bases, seven national experimental teaching demonstration centers, one national virtual simulation experimental teaching center 1, one national talent training mode innovation experimental zone 1, six national engineering practice education centers for school-enterprise cooperation, and one national engineering degree postgraduate joint training demonstration base 1.

The school has carried out in-depth foreign cooperation and exchanges, and established cooperative relations with Tsinghua University, Peking University, China Renmin University, Tianjin University, Haixi Research Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, and more than 40 universities, scientific research institutions and well-known enterprises in 50 foreign countries and regions.

The school actively cooperated with the national "One Belt, One Road" initiative, established an international platform for cooperation and exchange in science and education, and became a scholarship institution for international students in China, enrolling international students from more than 30 countries. More than 95% of colleges and universities are covered by students visiting abroad.
