The College of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering has four departments of chemistry, chemical engineering, materials science and environmental engineering, and five undergraduate majors of chemistry (normal class), applied chemistry, chemical engineering and technology, polymer materials and engineering and environmental engineering, and master of chemical engineering, with the right to award bachelor's and master's degrees.

The college has an experimental center, a performance testing and research center for new chemical materials, a key laboratory of water pollution control technology in Nantong, and a key laboratory of nitrogen-containing heterocyclic compound preparation technology in Nantong. The college trains a large number of outstanding senior chemical and chemical professionals for the country every year.

There are 95 faculty members, including 65 teachers, 65 professors, 28 associate professors and 23 lecturers. There are 32 doctors, 28 masters and 9 senior experimenters. Among the full-time teachers, 63.08% have senior professional titles, 92.3 1% have master's degree or above, and 66. 15% have doctors (including studying). Students actively participated in social practice activities and various competitions, and successively won the first and second prizes in national english contest for college students, the first and second prizes in the physics competition for non-physics majors in Jiangsu Province, the second and third prizes in the first chemistry and chemical experiment competition for college students in Jiangsu Province, and two national patents for inventions and utility models. The College Social Practice Team was awarded the honorary title of "Advanced Collective of Social Practice in Jiangsu Province" by the Communist Youth League Committee.
