University of international business and economics is an institution of higher learning established to meet the needs of the rapid development of foreign trade in New China. It is one of the four institutions under the former Ministry of Foreign Economic Relations and Trade. The school was established in 1960, aiming at cultivating senior professionals in foreign economic relations and trade. It was formed by the merger of Foreign Trade Department of Shanghai International Studies University, Shanghai Customs School and Shanghai Cadre School. 20 13 School was renamed university of international business and economics.
The school has 13 secondary colleges, including International Economics and Trade College, International Business Foreign Languages College, Finance Management College, Law School, Business Administration College, Accounting College, Exhibition and Tourism College, Statistics and Information College, Trade Negotiation College, International Cultural Exchange College, Continuing Education College, Marxism College and Sports Department. The school and Shanghai Songjiang District People's Government jointly established a nine-year compulsory education school-Songjiang Experimental School affiliated to Shanghai university of international business and economics.
