Under the guidance of the Ministry of Science and Technology and the Ministry of Education, ASC 13 Asian University Student Supercomputing Competition 1 supported by domestic supercomputing centers, research institutes and universities was a complete success, and * * * was actively participated by 43 universities in China, Russian, Korean, Indian, Kazakstan, Saudi Arabia, Taiwan Province Province of China, Hong Kong, China and other countries and regions. ASC has become the largest supercomputing competition in the world. 20 12 has 27 teams, 20 13 has 43 teams, 20 14 has 82 teams, and 20 15 has 152 teams. 20 14 World University Supercomputer Competition 2 (ASC 14 for short) will be the first time for ASC competition to be open to universities all over the world, and the competition will be open to universities on all continents to start registration collection and preliminary selection. ASC hopes to gather young supercomputing talents around the world through the competition, stimulate their love for supercomputing through the competition form, and generate ASC's endless enthusiasm for innovation. Under the influence of ASC, a large number of young college students started the journey of knowing, being familiar with and loving supercomputing, and went to the jobs of supercomputing application research. For example, the first batch of members of the National University of Defense Technology who participated in the ASC Supercomputing Competition have joined the application development of Tianhe 1A and Tianhe-2. ASC hopes to train more future supercomputing scientists through this competition form, so that they can master how to use supercomputers, explore unknown fields, and help more human dreams come true.
